Products >> Briquette

Biomass briquettes are a bio-fuel substitute to coal and charcoal. They can be used to heat industrial boilers to generate electricity and heat either as an alternative to coal or as its supplement reducing the emission of carbon dioxide and continuing the carbon cycle.

SMGK Green Fuels is dedicated to being natural, environment friendly and recycle in the most innovative and unimaginable ways. We are proud to introduce an addition to the already existing bio-fuels around the world. Though Briquette in various forms has been around for a while and has gained worldwide acceptance in both industrial and household usage, we would like to introduce a type of briquette made from agricultural residue. Creating briquette from the agricultural food residue is not only environment friendly but also very cost effective as compared to fuels like coal and oil.  Briquette can be used as an effective alternative to industrial fuels like coal, wood, bricks and lignite for electricity and heat generation. The main advantages of biomass briquette are that it is a renewable source of energy, natural (without any binders), non polluting and very economical. It is light-weighted, cost effective and requires less storage area as compared to other industrial fuels. Due to its low moisture and higher density nature, it gives much higher boiler efficiency in comparison to wood and charcoal.

Advantages of Briquette Usage:
Increased usage of biomass briquette in industries has led to tremendous decrease in pollution. As compared to other fuels largely used, briquette has following advantages:

  • It is eco-friendly & a renewable source of energy
  • It has high burning efficiency due to the low moisture.
  • It is economical and cheaper than other solid fuels i.e. coal & wood.
  • It has higher thermal calorific value as compared to other fossil fuels.
  • It is pollution free because there is no sulfur and smoke or any hazardous material.
  • It gives lower ash content.
  • Its combustion is more uniform compared to other coal.

Briquettes have a wide variety of use from household to industrial. Briquettes are now widely used in the following ways:
For cooking and water heating in households;
Firing ceramics and clay wares such as improved cookstoves, pottery, bricks etc;
As a fuel for gasifiers to generate electricity;
Powering boilers to generate steam
